GLANDORF – Edna C. German, 90, of Glandorf, died 9:27 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born February 7, 1933, in Glandorf to the late Wilfred C. and Laura A. (Stoepfel) Schroeder. On August 9, 1951, she married Paul A. German. He died November 4, 2015.
Survivors include four children: Ginny (Larry) Meyer of Ottawa, Kathy (Rick) Croy of Lima, Steve (Tina) German of Loveland and Deanna (Ed Zawodny) German of Perrysburg; six grandchildren: Phil Croy, Leslie Balch, Jon Meyer, Mindy Siefker, Adam German and Robyn Funk; ten great-grandchildren; five brothers: Carl (Irma) Schroeder of KY, Bill (Arlene) Schroeder of Lima, Jerry (Alice) Schroeder of Wadsworth, Joe (Judy) Schroeder of Columbus Grove and Randy (Linda) Schroeder of Mason, MI; two sisters-in-law: Lou Ann Schroeder of Ottawa and Ruth Schroeder of Sarasota, FL; and a brother-in-law, Tom Collins of CA.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela German; two sisters: Ann Collins and Jeanette Newnam; and two brothers, Gene Schroeder and Denny Schroeder.
Edna was a homemaker and had worked for the Glandorf Tax Office. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a graduate of Glandorf High School, an officer for the band boosters, girl scout leader and a member of the GLL.
A funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. A private burial will follow the mass. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Maintenance Fund, Putnam County Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
