Edward P. Burwell, Sr.
LEIPSIC - Edward P. Burwell, Sr., 84 of Leipsic died at 10:22 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus with his children by his side.
He was born October 18, 1930 in Leipsic to the late William Everett and Ruth (Martin) Burwell. On January 21, 1951, he married Patricia Washburn who died March 12, 2014.
Survivors include 5 children: Steven (Karen) Burwell of Lima, Michael (Glenna) Burwell of Tiffin, Sally (Larry) Unterbrink of Columbus Grove, Marjorie (Kenneth) Roberts of Columbus Grove, and Edward Burwell, Jr. of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Clair "Pete" Burwell.
Edward was a foreman at Cadillac Glass, McComb. He was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and Leipsic Athletic Boosters. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He was an avid fan of Leipsic sports, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and Detroit Tigers. He loved spending time with his family.
Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2015 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Rev. Tom Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with Military Rites by the Leipsic American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
