Edward B. Giesige
KALIDA - Edward B. Giesige, 69, of Kalida died at 1:44 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1943 in New Bavaria to Richard and Inez (Kunesh) Giesige, Sr. His father is deceased, his mother survives in Leipsic. On October 2, 1965 he married Joan Wortkoetter who survives in Kalida.
Also surviving are 2 children: Greg (Michelle) Giesige of Ottoville and Jill (David) Miehls of Kalida; 1 grandchild: Eyon Miehls; 3 brothers: Richard (Kathleen Gabe) Giesige, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI, Thomas Giesige of Lima, and Anthony Giesige of New Bavaria. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Giesige.
Edd worked for General Motors, Defiance for 12 years. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, Kalida Fish and Game, the National Rifle Association, Continental American Legion and Tri State Gun Collectors Association.  He was a graduate of Hamler High School and a U.S. Navy veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
