Edward S. Michel

GREEN VALLEY, AZ  - Edward Michel, 73, formerly of Defiance, passed away September 26, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, AZ.  He was born May 25, 1943 in Lima, OH to the late Arthur and Mary (Siefer) Michel.  On October 16, 1999, he married Rebecca (Burkhart) Michel and she survives.

Also surviving are his children:  Deb (Jim) Vargo of Linden, MI, Rebecca (David) Mangas of New Albany, OH, Patrick Michel of Oakwood, OH, Melissa (Robert) Leney of Canton, MI, and Ben (Sarah) Michel of Brentwood, TN; his brothers: Mark "Tim" (Jan) Michel of Quincy, MI and John Michel of Ft. Jennings, OH; step-children: Michelle (Kurt) Yearly of Newark, OH, Mike Kuhlman of Alexandria, KY, Matthew Kuhlman of Howell, MI and Adam (Christine) Kuhlman of Ottawa, OH; and 14 grandchildren.

Ed was born and raised in Fort Jennings, OH and was a graduate of St. Joseph College.  Later, lived in Defiance, OH, where he worked at the Central Foundry for 37 years. After retiring, he moved to Coldwater Lake, MI and Green Valley,  AZ.  He belonged to the Elks Club and Eagles. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers.

A celebration of his life, Mass of Christian Burial, will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Water Street, Fort Jennings, OH. Fr. Charles Obinwa will officiate. Visitation with family will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church on Saturday.  Lunch will be served after the mass in the church basement.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
