EDWARD C. SCHULTE

OTTAWA - Edward C. Schulte, 89, of Ottawa died 5:15 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.  He was born May 18, 1927 in Kalida to the late Joseph and Catherine (Drerup) Schulte.  On September 5, 1964 he married Jeanne Stechschulte who survives in Ottawa.  Edward and Jeanne were married for 52 years.

Also surviving are two brothers: Tom (Jan) Schulte of Pandora and Will (Angie) Schulte of Ottawa; two sisters: Flossie Sehlhorst of Columbus Grove and Esther (Mel) Schroeder of Ottawa; a brother-in-law: George Seifried of Toledo; a sister-in-law: Maxine Schulte of Ottawa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Alvin Schulte; four sisters: Martha Doepker, Delores Boyer, Eleanor Seifried, and Alice Balas; four brothers-in-law: Don Doepker, Scott Boyer, Hank Sehlhorst, and Bill Balas; and a sister-in-law: Eleanor Schulte.

Ed was a retired farmer.  He was an Army Veteran.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa where he served on the parish council and was a Eucharistic Minister.  He was a life member of Ottawa K of C.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion, V.F.W. and AmVets, all of Ottawa.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
