Eileen J. Niese

LEIPSIC - Eileen J. Niese, 81, of Leipsic died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1935 in Ottawa Township, Putnam County to the late Aloysius and Elizabeth (Klear) Laubenthal. On September 12, 1956 she married Leon I. Niese who died May 27, 2016.

She is survived by two children, Carol (Dan) Siebeneck and Douglas (Della) Niese both of Leipsic; five grandchildren, Sara (Rob) Gossard, Danielle (Shane) Kleman, Mike Siebeneck, Stephanie (Randy) Henry, and Breanna Niese; six great-grandchildren and two on-the-way; and a brother, James (Mildred) Laubenthal of Ottawa. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Schroeder and Betty Steffen and a brother, Lewis "Boz" Laubenthal.

Eileen worked at SCM Allied Egry of Leipsic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic; the Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary; and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, where there will be an Eagle's Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m.and one hour prior to the mass at church on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or to Bridge Hospice.
