Eileen M. Drerup

OTTAWA – Eileen M. Drerup, 97, of Ottawa died 4:07 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her residence.  She was born February 18, 1926 to the late Herbert and Laura (Stechschulte) Leopold.  On May 27, 1947 she married Elmer J. Drerup.  He died December 10, 1994.

Survivors include four children: Jere (Sharon) Drerup of Ottawa, Dennis (Cathy) Drerup of Flowery Branch, GA, Linda (Michael Luttfring) Drerup and Larry (Lisa) Drerup both of Ottawa; two sons-in-law: Jim Engard and Dan (Anne) Velasquez both of Leipsic; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Jane Engard and Deb Velasquez; and four siblings: Wilma (Edward) Tobe, Herbert (Lucille) Leopold, Catherine Leopold and Thomas (Jane) Leopold.

Eileen was a homemaker, loving wife and mother.  She never did anything she wouldn't want her children to do.  She enjoyed playing bridge, her grandchildren's visits, Sunday Communion servers and all were welcome during the daily coffee hour when her nieces and nephews often joined her.

A memorial mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

Memorial donations may be given to Putnam County Home Health and Hospice.
