Elaine M. Gerding GLANDORF – Elaine M. Gerding, 93, of Glandorf, passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born August 26, 1931, in McHenry, Illinois to the late Leo and Evelyn (May) Blake.  On August 23, 1958, she married Louis E. Gerding, he preceded her in death on April 29, 2001. Elaine is survived by her loving children: Joan (Aaron) Siefker, Barb (John) Warnecke, Mike (Amy) Gerding, all of Glandorf, and John (Deb) Gerding of Kalida; thirteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister: Clarice "Cookie" (Ron) Howard of McHenry, IL; and two brothers: Jerry (Sylvia) Blake of Wauconda, IL. and Tom (Theresa) Blake, of McHenry, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen (Dean) Clute; four sisters, Dorothy (John) Wolowic, Sister Eleanor Blake, Delores (Bill) German, Jeanie (Bob) Bigelow; and one brother, James Blake. Elaine retired from driving school bus.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she especially loved going to their ball games.  She loved spending time at the campgrounds with the family, and she enjoyed her golf cart rides.  Elaine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and CLC.   She was also a member of the Glandorf Fire Auxiliary.  Elaine also volunteered for the Red Cross. The family would like to thank the staff of the Meadows of Ottawa, Memory Care, for their compassion and care of Elaine. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:45 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, and again on Tuesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
