Elizabeth M. "Betty" Smith
Holgate -- Elizabeth M. "Betty" Smith 91, of Holgate died 8:40 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born January 6, 1924 in Ottawa to the late John and Frances (Schroeder) Ellerbrock.  On May 10, 1944 she married James Smith, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1986.
Betty is survived by her children:  Sr. Carol Ann Smith of Leipsic, Phyllis (Richard) Fuerst of Columbus Grove, Thomas (Kathy) Smith and Jane (Barry) Adams, both of Fostoria, Charles (Denise) Smith of Arcadia, Donald Smith of Holgate, Deb (Dan) Fout of Bluffton, and Kenneth (Brenda) Smith of Fostoria; a son-in-law:  Lynn Roller of Pioneer, OH; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and 20 step great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters:  Dolores Bockrath of Kalida, Alberta Ruhe of Glandorf and Rita Jane (Norbert) Bockrath of Glandorf; a brother:  Harold (Doris) Ellerbrock of Ottawa; and 2 sisters-in-law:  Theresa Ellerbrock and Imogene Ellerbrock, both of Ottawa.
She is preceded in death by a daughter:  Nancy Roller; a granddaughter: Margo Smith; 4 brothers:  James Ellerbrock, Andrew Ellerbrock, Karl Ellerbrock, and Robert Ellerbrock; and a sister:  Margaret Kerner.
Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and its Altar Rosary Society.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzles and crocheting.  She was a Cleveland Indians Fan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Father Bill Pifher officiating.  Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Memory Garden Cemetery, Arcadia.  Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and again at church for one hour prior to the service.  There will be a Rosary service said at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame or the charity of the donor's choice.
