Obituary

Elizabeth Ellen (Foreman) Elkins

OTTAWA - Elizabeth Ellen (Foreman) Elkins, 52, of Ottawa, passed away suddenly at home on the morning of Thursday, October 15, 2026. She was born August 4, 1974, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Edward and Joan (Gannon) Foreman. Ellen was a 1993 graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School, attended Urbana University from 1993 to 1995, and Toledo Travel School in 1996. On October 25, 2008, she married the love of her life, Nathan “Nate” Elkins, with whom she built a life centered around the love of their home, their family, and their many loyal friends.

She will be remembered for her remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved. She took great pride in every aspect of her life. Ellen was a fiercely loyal friend that knew no strangers. If you knew her, most likely there was a shenanigan story to share, as Ellen was the Queen of Shenanigans. She was also the president of the Foreman Olympics. She lived life to the fullest.

Ellen was a travel agent for Central Travel, Toledo for 30 years. She was an active member of the Ottawa American Legion Post 63 and Moose Lodge in Lima. She loved to travel and enjoyed swim team and softball. Ellen also enjoyed her pool time with her nieces, nephews and friends. She was always willing to help others and always dropped by to check on them. Ellen was a giver and never a taker. She will be missed by so many.

Ellen is survived by her beloved husband, Nathan “Nate” Elkins; her two siblings: David (Sandra) Foreman of Ottawa and Andy (Carrie) Foreman of Leipsic; and her cherished nieces and nephews: Faith, Daniel, Lucy, William and Bryant, whom she was always so proud of and loved more than words can say.

Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa American Legion Post 63: Children’s Christmas Party.
