Elizabeth J. Honigfort

OTTAWA – Elizabeth Honigfort, 68, of Ottawa, passed away at 12:09 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born August 17, 1955, in Lima to the late Alphonse and Beatrice (Miller) Gerschutz.  On August 15, 1997, she married Mark Honigfort, he preceded her in death on June 3, 2019.

Betty is survived by six siblings:  Lynn (Peter) Stoner, Daniel (Patricia) Gerschutz, Susan Gerschutz, Janice (Bill) Elkins, Cynthia Gerschutz, and Peg (Ken) Kaufman.

Along with her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Gerschutz.

Betty retired from the Meadows of Ottawa, where she had worked as a RN.  She loved her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She loved traveling with "Betty and the boys".

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Deacon Dave Maas officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date.   A visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
