Ellen Ailene Green

OAKWOOD - Ellen Ailene Green, 88, of Oakwood, died 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice.  She was born June 26, 1928, in Defiance, to the late Sylvenes and Edna Fidelia (Wagner) Taylor.  She was raised by Edna and her step-father, Guy O'Hare who is also deceased.  She married William M. Green who died in 1983.

Ellen is survived by two children: Karen (Keith) Kratzer of Defiance and Dennis Green of Oakwood; 4 grandchildren: Cary (Tina) Mead, Larry (Cari) Mead, Dan (Kelly) Mead and Rebecca (Jay) Smith; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Darl Green; two step-brothers: Russell O'Hare and Gerald O'Hare and two step-sisters: Evelyn Graham and Maymie Kindle.

Ellen was a housekeeper at the Old Defiance Hospital and All Star Products and a member of North Mt. Zion.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at North Mt. Zion Church, Continental with Pastor Brent Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.  Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at North Mt. Zion Church, Continental.

Memorials may be given to North Mt. Zion Church.
