Elmer J. Heuerman

OTTAWA – Elmer J. Heuerman, 95, of Ottawa, passed away at 9:52 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his residence.  He was born March 12, 1926 in Ottawa to the late John and Mary (Rump) Heuerman.  On May 23, 1951, he married Violetta Dulle, she survives in Ottawa.

Elmer is also survived by three children: Lynne Jones of Findlay, Larry (Tammy) Heuerman of New Bavaria, and Gary (Jenni) Heuerman of Ottawa; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by five brothers: Urban, Virgil, Leonard, Norbert and Donald Heuerman; and a sister: Dorothy Mae Heuerman.

Elmer was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War.  He was a member of Holy family Catholic Church, New Cleveland, as well as the Ottawa VFW, American Legion Post 63, Ottawa, and the Ottawa Eagles.  Elmer was a farmer, he also ran an excavating business.  He was a former manager of H & R Carryout in Ottawa, and he had also worked at Rusco in Pandora.  Elmer loved his family and enjoyed being outdoors.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Father Scott Perry officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military rites.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
