Elsie Torres

OTTAWA – Elsie Torres, 74, of Ottawa died 6:39 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her residence.  She was born November 24, 1947 to the late Trine and Maria (Garcia) Flores.  On November 26, 1966, she married Gilbert Torres, who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 4 children:  Lee (Lisa) Torres of Ottawa, Lisa (Rudy) Garcia of Ottawa, Becky (Terrance) Anderson of Toledo and David (Sherolyn) Torres of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren;7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers:  Oscar (Irene) Flores of Texas, Ray (Shelly) Flores of Ottawa, Ismael (Maria) Flores of Illinois and Ruben Flores of Ottawa; and 2 sisters:  Rosalinda Garnica of Ottawa and Cindy Flores of Indiana.

Elsie is preceded in death by 4 brothers:  Saul, Joel, Hector and Randy Flores; a sister:  Stella Shull and 2 grandchildren: Kelsey Marie and Nunu.

Elsie was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.  She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls; loved to dance and enjoyed going on road trips.  Her greatest love was her family, and she enjoyed her time spent with them.

The funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
