Elizabeth "Betty" (Kuhlman) Spence

LEIPSIC – Elizabeth "Betty" (Kuhlman) Spence, 96, of Leipsic, died 2:36 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born March 3, 1927 in New Cleveland to the late Louis and Kathryn (Recker) Kuhlman.  She was previously married to Robert D. Macke, and later married Orlo Spence who preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by 4 children:  Steven (Jane) Macke of rural Mount Blanchard, Stanley Macke of Findlay, Joe (Fay) Macke of McComb and Jennie (Dave) Delancy of North Baltimore; 3 stepchildren:  Susan (Gary) Rayle of Deshler, Rick (Brenda) Spence of Arcadia and Jerry Spence of Deshler; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law:  Kim Spence; a granddaughter, Stef Rich; a grandson, Shane Spence; a great-granddaughter, Lydia Macke; 4 brothers:  Alfred, Gilbert, Edwin and Ernest Kuhlman and 3 sisters:  Alice Sordelet, Isabel Mullett and Irene Peckinpaugh.

Betty retired from Whirlpool, Findlay and was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Leipsic Eagles.  She enjoyed wintering in Florida, loved playing cards and enjoyed her Thursday night pie nights with her family and friends.

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
