KALIDA - Erma G. Siebeneck, 98, of Kalida died 10:12 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf.
She was born November 1, 1914 in Continental to the late Charles and Rosa (Halbgewalks) Fischer. On July 4, 1933 she married Carolus "Cro" Siebeneck, who died January 7, 1999. Survivors include a daugher: Mary Ann (Cletus) Schroeder of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren: Deacon Robert (Lauren) Schroeder of Cincinnati, John (Sherrie) Schroeder of Prospect, Jamie (Tim) Klausing of Kalida, Jeff (Karen) Schroeder of Kalida, Mary Beth (Charles) Recker of Continental, Scott Schroeder of Van Wert, Gordon (Joy) Schroeder of Fruitland Park, FL, Gail (Mark) Closson of Ottawa, Jason (Jennifer) Schroeder of Lake Villa, IL, and Jennifer (Matt) Wahrer of Ottawa; 8 step grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Groeschen; a son Jude Siebeneck; a grandson: Charles Schroeder; and four sisters: Elsie Young, Edith Bush, Clara Baringer, and Mildred Quigley.
Erma was a cook for Kalida Elementary School for 25 years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Erma and Cro cooked at the Boy Scout Camp in Indiana for many years. While at her home, she enjoyed her back porch, watching and feeding birds, and drinking coffee with family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
