ERMA J. DETERS
GLANDORF - Erma J. Deters, 87, of Glandorf, died 7:33 a.m., Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Putnam Heritage, Ottawa.  She was born September 30, 1926 in Henry County, Ohio, to the late Wilbert and Mildred (Yetter) Hashbarger.  On November 25, 1948, she married Edward Deters.  He died October 27, 1983.
Survivors include a brother: Robert (Alma) Hashbarger of Ottawa; a sister: Doris Mekus of Jewell; and several nieces and nephews.
Erma had worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in Indianapolis, IN and then the Cannery in New Bavaria.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.  Erma donated 11 acres to the Glandorf Park System which will be named the "Ed and Erma Deters Youth Park".
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a parish and CL of C rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be given to St. John the Baptist Church or Putnam County Hospice.
