Ernesto Hernandez, Jr.

FINDLAY – Ernesto Hernandez, Jr, 64 of Findlay died 4:15 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.  He was born November 18, 1956 in Edinburg, TX to the late Ernesto Sr. and Guadalupe (Reyes) Hernandez.  On July 5, 1975, he married Yolanda Castillo and she survives in Findlay.

Other survivors include four daughters: Carie Dill Hernandez of Ottawa, Crystal (Matt) McCall of Westerville, Jeann (Chuck Dembecki) Hernandez of Arlington and Janelle Hernandez of Findlay; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four siblings: Yolanda (Bernard) Shively of Leipsic, Gloria (Chuck) Carnes of Rawson, Jerry (Tamar) Hernandez of Deshler and Linda Hernandez of Lakewood; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Hardy of Leipsic.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Hernandez; and a sister, Irma Hardy.

Ernesto retired in 2013 from Lowe's Home Improvement in Findlay.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic. He enjoyed winters in Florida, fishing, boating, mowing the lawn, grilling out and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Ernesto was an avid Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes football fan.

Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Deacon Ben Valdez officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic.  In keeping with social distancing guidelines, visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.  Masks are required.
