Esther A. Harban

PHOENIX, AZ - Esther A. Harban, 92, of Phoenix, AZ passed away at 8:13 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. She was born July 10, 1934, in Chicago, IL to the late Robert and Johanna (Reib) Scott. On October 24, 1951, she married Joseph Harban, who preceded her in death on September 8, 1990.

Survivors include five children: John Harban, Debra Foote, both of Phoenix, AZ, Valarie Harban of Chicago, Keith Harban and Mary Wilcox of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Harban; and three siblings: Lori Garcia, Johanna Carlson and Pearl Benny.

Esther retired from Glendale High School, where she worked in custodial maintenance. She enjoyed first and foremost her pets, but also enjoyed bingo, coffee, gambling and reading political thrillers. She had a passion for Phoenix sports. Above all, Esther was devoted to her family and loved them very much.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
