Esther E. Recker

GLANDORF – Esther E. Recker, 97, of Glandorf, passed away at 2:05 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at The Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born July 20, 1927, in Glandorf to the late Lawrence and Martha (Schroeder) Unterbrink. On February 7, 1948, she married William Recker, who preceded her in death on January 27, 2009.

She is survived by six children: Linda (Ron) Black of Glandorf, Marlene (Mark) Pine of Vero Beach, FL, Ann (Mike) Burgoyne of Hilliard, Amy (Tom) Frost of Findlay, Mark (Judy) Recker of Columbus Grove and Marti (Tim) Imm of Glandorf; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Unterbrink of Glandorf.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine (Dennis) Minkler; and three siblings: Alicia (Norbert) Heitmeyer, Jim Unterbrink and Carol (Leo) Brinkman.

Esther retired from State Home Savings Bank, Glandorf, where she worked as the manager. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society. She loved knitting, painting and spending time with her friends and family.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf or the Glandorf Park.
