Ethyl J. Burk

LEIPSIC - Ethyl Janice Burk, 97, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Huntersville, NC. Ethyl was born April 15, 1921 in Hicksville, OH to the late Elmer and Cora (Green) Wittig.  On November 1, 1941 she married Harold Burk.  Harold came back from the WW II in 1945 having served in the US Army as a Staff Sargent in the European Arena.  Ethyl retired as the Cafeteria Manager with Leipsic Public School after 25+ years of service.  Until her move to NC, she was an active member of Leipsic United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, Ethyl was preceded in death by her beloved Harold, to whom she was married for 65 years; a son, Barry Burk; two brothers: Walter Wittig and Paul Wittig; and a sister, Neva Votal.

She is survived by her son, Craig (Brenda) Burk; grandchildren, Logan, Connor and Aidan of Mooresville, NC.

Visitation & Service: The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 1pm to 2pm at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, in Leipsic with a service to follow  with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.
