Eugene R. "Gene" Lammers
LEIPSIC – Eugene R. "Gene" Lammers, 96, of Leipsic, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on October 3, 2024, at his residence. He was born May 17, 1928, in Leipsic to the late Arthur H. and Loretta (Wagner) Lammers. On May 21, 1955, he married Margaret J. Ewing, she preceded him in death on September 8, 2021.
Gene is survived by five children: Mary Jean (Jim) Kleingers of Middletown, Steve (Carmella) Lammers of Tipp City, Linda (Roger) Schroeder of New Cleveland, John (Heidi) Lammers of Londonderry, NH, and Anne (Brent) Schmenk of Frisco, TX; seventeen grandchildren: Beth (David) Harrison, Michael (Manda) Kleingers, Matthew (Amanda) Kleingers, Thomas (Lauren) Kleingers, Joseph (Stacy) Kleingers, Jonathan (Stephanie) Lammers, Andrew (Jacqueline) Lammers, Miranda (Nick) Sharp, Alexa (Patrick) Fisher, Christopher (Tammy) Schroeder, Jessica (Chad) Koch, Tony (Stacy) Schroeder, Elaina Lammers, Matthew Lammers, Nathan Schmenk, Mitchell Schmenk, and Lucas Schmenk; twenty one great-grandchildren: Lucy, William, and James Harrison, Jennifer and Autumn Kleingers, Avery, Gavin, Owen, and Everett Kleingers, Leo, Noelle, and Colette Kleingers, Robert J. and Jackson Kleingers, Sophia Lammers, Allison Brickner, Maelie, Chloe, and Eliana Koch, Kyla and Lucy Schroeder; a sister: Dolores (Gerry) Wenzinger of New Bavaria, and a sister-in-law: Jane Lammers of Miller City.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald (Dolores) Lammers and Norman Lammers.
Gene was a farmer, and journeyman electrician. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City. Gene enjoyed trips to Hocking Hills and was an avid golfer. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gene loved to spend time with his family.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday one hour prior to the Mass at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
