Eugene E. Kruse

OTTAWA - Eugene E. Kruse, 85, of Ottawa, died 8:05 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa. He was born September 16, 1935 in Ottawa to the late Virgil and Emma (Ellerbrock) Kruse. His stepmother, Helen Otto Kruse is also deceased. On October 29, 1960, he married Carolyn M. Fischer, who preceded him in death on October 20, 2015.

Eugene is survived by 5 sons: Dennis (Jamie) Kruse of Fishers, IN, David (Lisa) Kruse of Dublin, Daniel (Vicki) Kruse of Columbus, IN, John Kruse of Wilmington, DE and Andrew Kruse of Fishers, IN; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Betty Kruse of Ottawa and Joyce (Merrill) Raye of Ottawa.

He is also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren: Christopher James Kruse and Lisa Marie Kruse; a brother: Robert Kruse; and a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Lou (Virgil) Schroeder.

Eugene was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln Chiropractic College, IN. He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime from 1959 - 1962.  He then worked as a chiropractor for Kruse Chiropractic in Berne, IN and retired after 47 years. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and the Ottawa American Legion.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Meadows of Ottawa for their excellent care of their ornery father.

Funeral mass will begin 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Father Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. and again on Friday one hour prior to mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
