Forrest Edwin Rayle, Sr.
Leipsic – Forrest Edwin Rayle, Sr. 86, of Leipsic died 3:10 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Meadows of Leipsic. He was born August 23, 1925 in Putnam County, OH to the late Glee and Goldie (Hollabaugh) Rayle. On August 26, 1944 he married Bernice Ward, who survives in Leipsic.
He is also survived by his children: Forrest (Kathy) Rayle, Jr. of Findlay, Susan (Terry) Oliver and Janet (David) Spurgeon, both of Ottawa; 4 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Joan (Paul) Fenstermaker of Leipsic.
Forrest is preceded in death by 2 granddaughters: Angela Rayle and Jennifer Langhals; a son-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Forrest retired from Streakers in Findlay, had worked for Rayle Brothers Hay and Straw and a Ford Tractor dealer. He was a member of 1st Lutheran Church, Leipsic. He was a WWII Marine veteran, member of the Leipsic American Legion and a life member of the Leipsic VFW. Forrest had also been a former member of the Leipsic Village Council.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1st Lutheran Church, Leipsic. Pastor George Zornow will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by the Leipsic VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
