Father John R. “Jack” Laudick
TOLEDO - Father John R. “Jack” Laudick, 91, died Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Glass Peaks Senior Living facility in Toledo where he had resided for several years. He was born September 10, 1934, to the late John R. and Marcella M. “Sally” (Wanamaker) Laudick.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Robert Henikman of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Ruth Laudick of Ottawa; nephews: Robert (Christina) Henikman, and John (Jennifer) Henikman; a niece, Kelley (Ben) Stobbs; great nieces and great nephews; and by numerous relatives in Ottawa, Delphos and Lima.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Laudick; and a sister, Mary Henikman.
Father Jack was a graduate of Sts. Peter and Paul High School, Ottawa, attended St. Gregory Seminary and was a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Cincinnati. He was ordained to the Catholic priesthood at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo on May 30, 1964 and celebrated his First Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa.
Throughout his years of priestly ministry in the Toledo diocese, Father Jack served in numerous parishes, including pastor of St. John parish in Lima in the 1980s.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2026 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with the Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas, Bishop of Toledo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Formal Reception of the Body of Fr. John Laudick will be Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church, where a Vesper Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ottawa.
