Frances U. Cole Niese

Ottawa - Frances U. Cole Niese, 85, of Ottawa died 6:43 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born November 20, 1932 in Ottawa to the late Alfred and Alice (Fairchild) Klausing.  She married Larry  Cole who died March 17, 1977 and then on December 28, 1987, she married Donald Niese who died April 29, 2011.

Frances is survived by three sons: Chris (Nancy Austin) Cole of Ottawa, Nick Cole and David Cole both of Leipsic; five step-children: Joyce (Greg) Poppel of Columbus, Roger (Barb) Niese  and Dale (Denise) Niese all of Glandorf;  Elaine (Tom) Schulte of Marco Island, FL, and Dean (Cathy) Niese of Maumee; four grandchildren: Dalton Cole, Kelsey Cole, Corissa Cole, Paige Cole; five great-grandchildren: Mason Cole, Bowen Cole, Brooklyn Cole, Layla Cole, Paxton McCaslin; two brothers: Bill (Kathy) Klausing of Ottawa and Bob (Joyce) Klausing of Kalida; a sister: Dorothy Siefer of Ottawa; and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Klausing and Eileen Klausing both of Ottawa. She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter: Julie Diehn; three brothers: Herm and Alfred, Jr. Klausing and an infant, Daniel Klausing; and a brother-in-law: Tom Siefer.

Frances was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.  She worked for many years in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School cafeteria as a cook.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Scripture Service at 7:50 p.m.
