Francis C. "Frank" Brickner
OTTAWA - Francis C. Brickner, 78, of Ottawa, died at 12:48 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born August 4, 1936 in Ottoville to the late Andrew and Veronica (Liebrecht) Brickner. On September 14, 1963 he married Marilyn C. "Woodie" Harwood who died April 1, 2003.
Frank is survived by 3 children: Colleen (Steve) Scheckelhoff, Daniel Brickner, and Sean (Heather) Brickner all of Ottawa; 7 granddaughters: Kara (Craig) Fortman, Brittany Scheckelhoff, Kathryn "Kate" Scheckelhoff, Megan Scheckelhoff, Ava Brickner, Sophia Brickner, and Claire Brickner; 3 brothers: Andrew (Pat) Brickner of Ottawa, Art (Sharon) Brickner of Elida, and Mert (Mary) Brickner of Kalida; a sister: Mary (Don) Partin of Vaughnsville. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Don Brickner and a sister: Alice Brickner.
Frank was a forklift driver for Ford in Lima and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles 2234, and a life member of the Ottawa American Legion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW, and AM VETS. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday until the time of mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
