Francis C. "Frank" Tobe

GLANDORF - Francis C. "Cookie" Tobe, 81, of Glandorf died 5:54 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Mercy Health Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born July 17, 1939 in Glandorf to the late Julius and Pauline (Warnecke) Tobe. On May 1, 1965 he married Carolyn Fischer and she survives in Glandorf.

Other survivors include three children: Michelle (Rod) Nuveman of Glandorf, Lisa (Joe) Wank of Woodville and Todd (Tricia) Tobe of Centerville; nine grandchildren: Bradley (Kiersten) Nuveman, Stacey Nuveman, Allison Wank, Derek Wank, Sidney Wank, Shane (Mallory) Tobe, Nicholas Tobe, Aaron Tobe and Lauren Tobe and one great grandchild on the way.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Tobe.

Frank retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004 after 45 years. He was a US Army National Guard veteran.  He was a member of Ottawa Eagles, Ottawa American Legion, Glandorf Rod and Gun Club, Kalida Fish and Game Club, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Glandorf Fire Department, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Glandorf where he was former Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Ford International Retractable Car Club. Frank was also known as "Mr. Lucky".  He visited Glandorf Germany and loved to travel. He enjoyed polka music and dancing, playing Solo with his card friends, coaching girls softball, fishing in Lake Erie, being with his neighbors and was an avid fan of the Ottawa Glandorf Titans, Cleveland Indians and Browns.

Funeral mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa American Legion, VFW, and AMVETS.  In keeping with social distancing, visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, OTTAWA and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, May 29 at the church.  A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 7:30 on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mask will be required upon entrance to the church and  funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Glandorf Park or Glandorf Fire Department.
