Francisco G. Garcia, Sr.

LEIPSIC – Francisco G. Garcia, Sr., 89, of Leipsic, died 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at The Meadows of Ottawa.  He was born November 18, 1931 in Matamoros, Mexico to the late Roman and Josefa (Garzoria) Garcia, Sr.  On April 12, 1965, he married Maria Martinez.  She preceded him in death on September 28, 2017.

Survivors include six children: Reynaldo Garcia, Irma (Raymond) Sustaita, Javier Garcia all of Chicago, IL, Francisco Garcia, Jr., Norma (Dan) DeLaRosa and Carlos Garcia all of Leipsic; ten grandchildren: Sara (Jerame Hicks) Sustaita, Jaime (Melissa) Sustaita, Amanda (Philip) Alexander, Gabriele Garcia, Adrian Elijah Garcia, Daniel Jacob DeLaRosa, Sonovia Eve DeLaRosa, Miranda Marie DeLaRosa, Allison Kay Garcia and Roman Xavier DeLaRosa; five great-grandchildren: Bianca Sustaita, Jaime R. Sustaita, Jacob M. Sustaita, Andrew R. Hicks and Jacklyn G. Hicks; and two siblings: Esther Garcia Lopez of Leipsic and Roman Garcia, Jr. of Brownsville, TX.

He was also preceded in death by five siblings: Maria Guadalupe Garcia, Paula Garcia Aguilar, Fidencia Garcia Velez, Maria Concepcion Garcia Gonzalez and Macario Garcia.

Francisco retired from Phillips, Ottawa. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic where he played guitar and sang Spanish music for mass. Francisco was a member of the Guadalupe Society as well.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
