Frieda E. Hammons

Cloverdale – Frieda E. Hammons, 90, of Cloverdale died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her residence.  She was born May 1, 1927 in Blue Creek Township, Paulding County, Ohio to the late Fred Paul and Bessie Mae (Leslie) Hartwig.  On July 29, 1944 she married Ralph Hammons, who died February 5, 2016.

Frieda is survived by her children: Barbara (Everett) Guyton of Ottoville, Jim (Barbara) Hammons of Holland, and Kathy Kline of Cloverdale; a daughter-in-law: Vickey Hammons of Cloverdale; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; two brothers: Fred Hartwig of Van Wert and Ray Hartwig of Payne; and a sister: Deanna Adkins of Oak Hill.  She is preceded in death by a son: George "Jerry" Hammons; 2 brothers: Paul and Dick Hartwig; 4 sisters: Mae Green, Carrie Cotterman, Florence Sanderson, and Mary Gray; and a son-in-law: Dave Kline.

Frieda was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Briceton.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday all at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ottoville EMS or to a charity of the donor's choice.
