Gail Lynnette Schumacher
COLUMBUS GROVE – Gail Lynette Schumacher, 58, of Columbus Grove died at 9:04 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born June 30, 1954 in Bluffton to the late Francis J. and Florence (Verhoff) Schumacher. She is survived by her brother: Mark Schumacher of Bluffton.
Gail had been in management for the Putnam County Sentinel, Spherion of Lima, Allen County Department of Human Services, and Putnam County Welfare Department. She was instrumental in initiating GED/ESL classes in Putnam County when she worked for Putnam County CETA. As Administrator for the JOBS Program she helped bring welfare reform to Putnam and Allen Counties. She was a member of the Ottawa Kiwanis Club and on the board of Putnam County American Cancer Society.
Gail loved nature, flowers, trees, birds, cats, water, playing cards, taking adventures, Put-in-Bay, fireworks, and entertaining. She enjoyed laughter, intelligent conversations, meeting new and different people, and good food. She also loved sitting around the fire ring with good friends, going to Long Lake with the Berheides, and going to Indiana with the Croys and Schartzes.
