Gail L. Osting

OTTAWA – Gail L. Osting, 79, of Ottawa, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born August 7, 1943 in Baltimore, MD to Robert and Katherine (Mayo) Wannemacher.  On October 26, 1963, she married Jerry Osting. He survives in Ottawa.

Other survivors include four children: Robin (Jerry) Levine of Rockford, MI, Scott (Bobbi) Osting, Anita (Rich) Ross, both of Ottawa and Jason (Cindy) Osting of Leipsic; eight grandchildren: Austin (Haley) Levine, Madison Levine, Kennedy (Eli) Brown, Easton Osting, Hanna Keller, Avery Ross, Ryan Ross and Claire Osting; a great-grandchild, Juniper Levine and one on the way; and one brother, Chuck (Nancy) Wannemacher of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wannemacher and Katherine Caprilla.

Gail owned and operated the family jewelry store.  She had also worked at Kohl's Bakery in Ottawa. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and Ottawa Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, where she was the co-founder and director of Road Kill Bingo. Gail enjoyed baking and cooking, especially for Sunday family dinners and going to her kids, and later in life, grandkids' sporting events.  Gail loved to travel, especially vacationing in Florida and Maryland with her husband and mother. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Her best times were being surrounded by her family and friends.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 8th and one hour prior to Mass on Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
