Garry L. Hess

OTTAWA – Garry L. Hess, 74, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:19 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at his residence. He was born November 18, 1951, in Northampton, PA. On April 24, 1976, he married Debra Crist, who survives in Ottawa.

Other survivors include his son, Garry (Sarah) Hess; and three grandchildren, Zane Kristof, Emily Hess and Tyler Hess.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Nathan Hess.

Garry retired from factory work and was a member of Faith Assembly of Believers in Ottawa. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a humble, loving, and faith-driven man who cared deeply for his family and those around him. Garry’s strong work ethic and dedication were qualities that defined the way he lived his life. He found joy in the simple things in life—spending time with his family, camping, playing games and especially making memories with his grandchildren. He had a love for classic cars and oldies music and enjoyed listening to live music in the park.

Above all, Garry loved his church, his family, and life itself. He lived his life with a quiet humility and a genuine love for others. His simple, loving ways, his faith, his dedication, and the memories he created with those he loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Garry’s life will held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Faith Assembly of Believers, Ottawa, with Pastor John Buckland officiating. In keeping with Garry’s wishes, he asked that everyone attending wear colorful attire.
