Gary A. Bockrath
KALIDA – Gary A. Bockrath, 63, of Kalida died at 9:22 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1949 in Lima to the late Herbert and Josephine (Clementz) Bockrath. On December 9, 1972 he married Doris Gilgenbaugh who survives in Kalida.
He is also survived by 3 children: Casey (John) Altieri of Columbus, Graeme Bockrath of Kalida and Justin (Heather) Bockrath of Kalida; 6 grandchildren: Lucy, Josie and Gianna Altieri, Graeme Kage Bockrath, Dominic and Kallie Bockrath; 4 brothers: Robert (Helen) Bockrath of Defiance, Edward (Anna) Bockrath of Ottoville, Kevin (Deb) Bockrath of Chillicothe and Vernon (Carol) Bockrath of Gahanna; 3 sisters: Carol (Bob) Meyer of Fort Jennings, Betty (Louis) Saum of Fort Jennings, and Judy (Bob) Morman of Columbus Grove.
Gary retired from General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance. He worked for Remlinger Manufacturing in Kalida and was owner/operator of Photo Philes Photography Studio in Kalida. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Ottawa Eagles, Kalida Fish and Game Club, Miata Card Club and Indian Lake Moose Lodge. Gary was an avid Moody Blues Fan and enjoyed taking rides in his convertible to get ice cream. He loved watching all the activities of his children and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Holy Name Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
