Gary Robert Niese

OTTAWA– Gary Robert Niese, 68, of Ottawa, died at 12:03 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at his residence. He was born June 14, 1954 in Lima to the late Robert and Mildred (Sarka) Niese.  On July 7, 1984, he married Carol R. Knott who survives at home.

Gary is survived by two children: Nikki (Doug) Rosengarten of Ottawa and Chris (Renae Swanson) Niese of Ottawa; three grandchildren: Evan, Deagan and Kason Rosengarten; one sister: Karen (Ron) Reynolds of West Chester, Ohio.

Gary was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Leipsic Fishing & Hunting Club, and The NRA. He was an electrician and owned Niese Electric with his father, operating for more than 50 years. As part of the 7 Dwarfs Corporation, Gary was a former co-owner of The Hitching Post, Ottawa. He was an avid Yankees and Browns fan, coached softball, and enjoyed golf cart rides and spending time with his grandchildren.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Leipsic Fishing & Hunting Club.
