Gary E. Roof

OTTAWA – Gary E. Roof, 64, of Ottawa died 8:48 a.m., Saturday, January 06, 2018 at The Meadows of Ottawa.  He was born December 22, 1953 in Lima, to the late Floyd E. and Miriam D. (Schauder) Roof.

Survivors include two children: Richard D. (Andrea McClarren) Roof of Ottawa and Kelli (Anthony Hazelton) Carpenter of Ottawa; two grandchildren: Rheya and Emery; and four siblings: Dean (Dana) Roof of Rogers City, MI, Don (Brenda) Roof of Miller City, Barb (Bob) Murray of Virginia Beach, VA and Janet Richardson of Ottawa.

Gary performed residential maintenance on apartments.  He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Ottawa, a social member of the Ottawa VFW and member of ABATE of Ohio.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Deacon Doyle Erford officiating.  Burial will follow in Ace Varner Cemetery, Greensburg Township.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
