Gebhard S. Gasser

Ottoville - Gebhard S. Gasser, 88, of Ottoville  died at 7:01 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 18, 1930 in Ottoville to the late Gebhard and Mayme (Bohn) Gasser.  On June 6, 1959, he married Ruth A. Bendele who survives in Ottoville.

Gebhard is also survived by his children: Karen (Todd) Bidlack  and Patty (Tony) Rupert both of Ft. Jennings, Shirley (Tony) Davis of Ottoville, Joyce Klein of Columbus Grove, Wayne (Heather) Gasser of Ottoville, Sharon (Dan) Sealts of Ft. Jennings, Marcia (Todd) Hoehn of Ottoville and Cheryl (Rick) Thurman of Van Buren, Indiana; twenty-one grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by a son-in-law: Mike Klein and siblings: Rudy Gasser, Rosemary Kramer,  Alma Beckman, Wilma Gasser and a step- granddaughter: Kayla Hobkins.

Gebhard was a lifelong farmer and retired from Dana Corp after 23 years of service.  He had previously worked for Ex-Cell-O for 22 years.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville.  His family was his life and he loved to spend time with them.  He loved to "Go", travel and spend time in his workshop.  He enjoyed passing on his knowledge and took great pleasure in sharing it with others.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.   Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, where a rosary service will be at 1:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Church Repair Fund or to the Delphos Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
