Georgia H. Geren

OAKWOOD – Georgia H. Geren, 97, of Oakwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 1:57 a.m. She was born August 21, 1928, in Latty, to the late Carl and Edith (Peckhart) Merriman. On July 5, 1946, she married Oscar Geren, he preceded her in death on September 5, 1986.

Georgia is survived by three children: Helen Sharp, Ronald (Becky) Geren, and Sandra Merriman; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister: Jeannie Britsch.

She is also preceded in death by siblings, Edward (Beatrice) Merriman, Bruce (Deltha) Merriman, Leo (Eunice) Merriman, Merle (Dorthy) Merriman, Hilda (Burt) Geren and Emma (Allen) Porter; and a brother-in-law, Lee Britsch.

Georgia enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved making quilts.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. A fellowship meal will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
