Gloria "Ria" Carnes

RAWSON – Gloria "Ria" Carnes, 64, of Rawson, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.  She was born April 16, 1960, in Pharr, TX to the late Ernesto Sr. and Guadalupe (Reyes) Hernandez.  On July 5, 1980, she married John Meiseman, he preceded her in death.  On October 12, 2013, she married Charles "Chuck" Carnes, he survives in Rawson.

Ria is also survived by two children:  Joshua (Ellinor) Meiseman of Sweden, and Ajay (Erica) Reyna of Baraboo, WI; two grandchildren:  Rowan and Morgan Meiseman; two step-children: Vanessa Carnes, and Victoria Lauck; four step-grandchildren:  Rilee and Charlie Lauck, and Sydney and Arthur Carnes; three siblings:  Yolanda (Bernard) Shively of Leipsic, Jerry (Tamar) Hernandez of Deshler, and Linda Hernandez of Lakewood; a sister-in-law:  Yolanda Hernandez of Findlay; a brother-in-law:  Dennis Hardy of Leipsic; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos Hernandez and Ernesto Hernandez Jr.; and a sister, Irma Hardy.

Ria had retired from Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center where she worked as a phlebotomist.  She enjoyed the Bluffton Senior Center, especially the bus trips.  Ria loved her dogs and spending time in her flower garden.  She also enjoyed cooking and loved to bake for family and friends.  Ria really enjoyed beautiful days and motorcycle rides.  She worked hard to keep her family together and was always there to lend a hand whenever they needed her.  Ria always looked forward to her weekly FaceTime to read to her granddaughter Rowan.

Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Ed Marroquin Jr. officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
