Goldie Mae Bryant
OAKWOOD – Goldie Mae Bryant, 83, of Oakwood, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born August 15, 1942, in West Virginia to the late Foster Workman and Nettie (Dempsey) Workman-Hall. On February 1, 1964, she married Hartsel Bryant, Sr., who survives in Toledo. Hartsel and Goldie were married for over 60 years and were best friends. Rarely did you see one without the other.
Other survivors include two children: Hartsel (Annette) Bryant and Dennis Bryant; two grandchildren: Aaron (Kay’tee) Bryant and Jennifer Bryant; and three great-grandchildren: Landon Bryant, Liam Bryant and Damien Bryant. She is also survived by her sister: Laura Jean (Donnie) Crawford; and brothers: Harold (Mary) Workman, Tandy (Dianna Workman, Buddy (Theresa) Workman, and Jim (Phyllis) Workman.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, Linville Hall, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Lori “Rete” Weiss, Odessa “Pete” Paynter, Dolly Smith, and Brady Workman.
Goldie had previously worked for R & B Fabrications in Charloe. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to CHP Hospice of Paulding and Defiance.
