Greg Lopez Jr.

NORTH CREEK – Greg Lopez Jr., 59, of North Creek, formerly of Leipsic, died at 12:31 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Mercy Health Putnam Medical Center, Glandorf.  He was born August 16, 1961 in Lima to Gregorio Sr. and Maria A. (Torres) Lopez.  His father precedes him in death, and his mother survives in Leipsic.  On November 13, 1993 he married Vicki Franz, she survives in North Creek.

Greg is also survived by an adopted daughter: Jordan (Gabriel) Navarro of Leipsic; a grandson: Preston (Sabrinna Lomeli) Navarro of Leipsic; a godson: Randy (Amanda Heuerman) Larson Jr, also of Leipsic; a special dog: Bella; six siblings: Francisco (Janie) Lopez Sr. of McComb, Margarita (Jose) Pina Jr. of Hamler, Ester (Dennis) Niese of Ottawa, Mario Lopez, Norma (Randy) Larson Sr., Jeanna (Gary Higbie) Lopez, all of Leipsic; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and extended family: Dr. Kirk (Debra) Griffith of Lima.

Greg was a 1979 graduate of Leipsic High School.  He was a member of the North Creek United Methodist Church.  He loved to go camping and fishing, and also enjoyed playing corn hole.  Greg was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Dallas Cowboys and Nascar.  He was also famous for his ribs.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Rick Noggle and Pastor Gabe Lomeli officiating.  Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, a visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.  Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
