H. Bernard Slattman
Oakwood -- H. Bernard Slattman, 88, of Oakwood died 3:15 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Gardens of Paulding.  He was born May 10, 1926 in Putnam County, Ohio to the late John and Catherine (Bauhaus) Slattman.  On November 29, 1954 he married Evelyn K. Leatherman, who died September 6, 2011.
He is survived by his children:  James (Robin) Slattman of Marysville and Jerry Slattman of Cloverdale; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by a son:  Marvin Slattman; a grandson:  Bradley Slattman; 5 brothers:  Neil, Ed, John, Carl and Gus Slattman; and 3 sisters:  Florence Matson, Marie Mallott and Mildred Nelson.
Bernard was a farmer.
There will be a graveside service for Bernard 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2014 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.  Rev. Terry Porter will officiate.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood.
