Harold C. "Jim" Etter

DUPONT - Harold C. "Jim" Etter, 102, of Dupont died at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born October 11, 1914 in Dupont to the late Charles Cloid and Emma (Parcher) Etter. On December 5, 1936 he married Gladys Maxine Schindler who died November 15, 2011.

He is survived by two children, James Etter of Dupont and Karen (James) Grant of Hamilton Lake, IN; four grandchildren, Deb (Curt) Sybert, Jeff (Robin) Etter, Christy (Russ) Tingley, and Brandon (Angie) Grant; and nine great-grandchildren, Dustin Yoder, Darcy Sybert, Ross Etter, Jamie Etter, Carson Etter, Grant Tingley, Brock Tingley, Casey Grant, and Cade Grant. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Orley and Charles "Joe" Etter; two sisters, Beulah Mead and Theda Monet; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Etter.

Jim was co-owner of Etter Tile Company in Dupont and Etter Rainbow Ranch in Zephyr Hills, FL.  He loved to garden, play golf, go fishing, and traveling, but he especially enjoyed gambling in Vegas.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
