Harold E. McCullough
OAKWOOD - Harold E. McCullough, 82, of Oakwood died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert. He was born October 6, 1931 in Melrose to the late George A. and Tresa R. (Slattery) McCullough. On August 11, 1951 he married Jane "Marie" Davis who survives in Oakwood.
Also surviving are 4 children: David A. (Diana) McCullough of Oakwood, Pam (Kim) Osenga of Van Wert, Carol (Darrell) Meeks of Continental, and Barb (Rick) Langenek of Pataskala; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Inella Finnegan of Broughton. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Robert, Wayne, and Warren "Cobb" McCullough and 4 sisters: Martha Traxler, Methel Aldrich, June Brown, and Maxine McCullough.
Harold retired in 1986 from General Motors in Defiance after 30 years. He had formerly worked at the Shell gas station and Roberts Manufacturing both in Oakwood. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the National Guard.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Charloe with military rites by the Oakwood American Legion. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Van Wert Hospice.
