FROMERLY OF OTTOVILLE - Harold (Rick) Ricker, 82, died peacefully on November 10, 2014, at his home in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Ottoville, OH, on March 27, 1932. He was the youngest of eleven children born to Louis B. Ricker and Anna (Kemper) Ricker. After his parents died, he lived with his sister, Leona and her family in Delphos, OH. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was married to Margaret Ricker for thirty-five years. She died in 1991. They had three children – Mary Ann (Jerry) Hartland and children, Bradley and Caroline of Plymouth, MI, Jane (Bernie) Brousseau and children, April and Aubrey of Garden City, MI, and Robert (Tish) Ricker and children, Lindsey and Louis of Tallahassee, FL.
Rick retired from Burroughs Corp (Unisys) after 35 years of service in 1990. After retirement, he met his wife, Kathy and they married in 1997 and have lived in Tallahassee, FL. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.
He will be missed by his beloved wife, Kathy and her children, Michele (Bert) Handy and daughter Dealyn; Brien (Jen) Croteau; and Jenny (Brian) Black and daughter Veronica, and his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Mary Grothouse (Art) of Delphos, OH, and two sisters-in-law, Rita Ricker of Delphos, OH, and Jeanette Ricker of Clyde, OH, and countless nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank the many friends who helped care for Rick as well as the Big Bend Hospice nurses and caregivers and Hopewell home health aides who assisted with taking care of him at home.
Visitation with the family and friends will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Route 634 in Ft. Jennings, Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, Ohio at 11 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ottoville, OH.
