Hayward Maynard

LEIPSIC – Hayward Maynard, 92, of Leipsic, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born March 8, 1934, in Bonne Bay, Newfoundland to the late Daniel and Tossie (Hiscock) Maynard. On August 31, 1957, he married the love of his life, Donna J. Meyers. They were married for 68 wonderful years. She survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include 3 sons: James (Anne) Maynard of Findlay, Larry (Mary Smith) Maynard and David (Janice Westrick) Maynard, both of Leipsic; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; 6 siblings: William Maynard, Cyril (Joyce) Maynard, Hazel Oram, Frances (Ivan) Pittman, Gladys Hawco and Beatrice Budgen, all of Newfoundland; and a sister-in-law, Joan Maynard of Leipsic.

He was also preceded in death by 4 siblings: Rosie Maynard, Mary McKenzie, Arthur Maynard and Thomas Maynard; a sister-in-law, Edna Maynard; and a brother-in-law, Jim Hawco.

Hayward retired in February of 1995 as a plumber/pipefitter. He was a 60 year member of the Toledo Local Union #50. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, tinkering, walking and doing puzzles. Hayward especially loved spending time with his family.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
