Hector A. Solis

Leipsic – Hector A. Solis, 79, of Leipsic for 46 years, died at 5:05 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the loving home of his daughter in Edinburgh, Texas, where he spent the winter months.

He was born August 7, 1936 in Pharr, Texas to the late Lazaro and Eva Alaniz Solis.  On August 5, 1960 he married Maria G. Carranza, who survives in Toledo.

Survivors also include 7 children: Hector A. Solis Jr. of Toledo, Natalie Call (Scott) of Columbus, Linda Solis of Leipsic, Robert L. Solis (Brooke) of Bowling Green, Michael A. Solis (Perry Ashcraft), Frederick Solis (Katherina Sanchez) of Lima, Peru, Mary Bea (Omar) Monrreal; Brother: Gilbert Solis (Louise) of Portland, Oregon; 11 Grandchildren: Andrea Solis, Brandon Solis, Shayna Moratt, Andrew Solis, Kyle Moratt, Tyra, Jacob, Taz Woodruff, Omar Jr, Anthony Monrreal, and Elijah Call; 3 great-grandchildren:  Jayla Carr, Amiyah Connor , Jamieson Parsons.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister: Guadalupe and Lazarie Solis; Elida Solis Marez.

Hector retired from General Motors in Defiance and was a Navy Veteran.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic.  He was a former president of the Guadalupe Society, the Cursillo movement, and marriage encounter.  He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, telling stories, and his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015  at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with Fr. William Pifher officiating.  Burial will follow in church cemetery with military rites by  US Navy Reserves, Toledo, OH.   Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, LEIPSIC and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
