Helen Iona Heidenescher
CONTINENTAL – Helen Iona Heidenescher, 94, of Cloverdale died at 10:12 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 11, 1917 in Holgate to the late John and Agnes (Schwab) Houck, Sr. On October 26, 1946 she married Joseph William Heidenescher who died October 30, 2006.
She is survived by 3 children: Robert (Sally) Heidenescher of Dupont, Chris (Susan) Heidenescher of Toledo and Edward Heidenescher of Cloverdale; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother: Lawrence (Marilyn) Houck of Napoleon; and 3 sisters-in-law: Bernie Houck of Continental, Gerry Houck of Holgate and Helen Houck of Holgate. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson: Jacob Heidenescher and 5 brothers: Bob, Jim, John, Jr., Dick and Don Houck.
Helen retired from Westinghouse after 40 years. She was a devout catholic and a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale and had been a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Cuba until they closed. She was a member of St. Isidore's Rosary Altar and Catholic Ladies of Columbia Societies; St. Barbara's Catholic Ladies of Columbia Society and a life member of Continental's American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Ottawa VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Helen dearly loved her family and the time she spent with them and enjoyed playing cards, especially winning!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (at the corner of St. Rt. 224 and 634) where there will be a scripture service at 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to St. Barbara's Building Fund or to St. Jude Hospital.
