Helen G. Kaufman
Leipsic - Helen G. Kaufman, 95, of Leipsic, died 7:15 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her residence.  She was born February 25, 1919 in Leipsic to the late Lawrence and Agnes (Meyer) Steffan.  On May 1, 1940, she married Edwin Kaufman, who died  August 10, 1995.
She is survived by her five children: Jean "Jeannie"  Schroeder of Ottawa, Mark (Dona) Kaufman of Findlay, Kevin (Barb) Kaufman of Ottawa, Sandra (Don) Pester of Miller City and Steve (Janice) Kaufman of Leipsic; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brother: Clarence (Rita) Steffan of Ottawa and Ed Steffan of Leipsic.  She is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Art and Karl Steffan;  a son-in-law: Louis Schroeder and a granddaughter, Lauren Kaufman.
Helen was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic; its Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.  She volunteered at Putnam Acres and loved quilting and playing bingo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with the Very Reverend George Wenzinger and Father Kent Kaufman officiating.  Burial will follow in church cemetery.   Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday  at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, where there will be a CLC and rosary service at 7:30 p.m. on  Monday evening.
Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
