Helen Marie Trenkamp
OTTOVILLE - Helen Marie Webken Trenkamp, 73, of Ottoville, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born June 29, 1943 in Lima to the late Joseph and Martha (Schmitz) Webken. On November 24, 1962 she married Robert J. Trenkamp and he survives in Ottoville.
She is also survived by five children, Robert (Shelley) Trenkamp and Jeff Trenkamp both of Ottoville, Lisa (Eric) Kaufman of New Albany, Lynn Trenkamp of Ottoville, and Lesley Trenkamp of Akron; seven grandchildren, Alysia (Elliott) Smallwood, Laura Kaufman, Michael (Alyson) Kaufman, Rachel Kaufman, Danielle Trenkamp, Dustin Trenkamp, and Dana Trenkamp; two sisters, Phyllis Moening and LouAnn Kahle both of Kalida; two sisters-in-law, Mae Webken of Kalida and Margaret (Donald) Warnecke of Ottoville; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Trish) Trenkamp of Huntsville. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Webken; two brothers-in-law, Leon "Windy" Kahle and Kenneth "Kenny" Moening; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Owen Smallwood.
After raising her family of five Helen was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse at the age of 49. She had many great experiences in her nursing career and retired as a psychiatric nurse at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting, praying the rosary daily, and her little sidekick, Bruce. She loved travelling and spending time with family and friends. She was always only a phone call away to lend a caring ear or a helping hand.
Helen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Altar Rosary Society, and NAMI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be an Altar Rosary service at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or to Ottoville EMS.
